Online Course and Membership for People with Reactive Dogs

Reactivity Roadmap

How to help your dog to go from reactive to responsive in public

I hear the same thing from all of my reactive dog clients — they can get their dog to respond to them when a distraction is not present on walks, but the moment another dog (or trigger) comes around, all bets are off.

They have tried everything – treats, moving further away, distracting their dog, the latest and greatest trend on TikTok, and yet nothing seems to stick.

Reactivity Roadmap is for you if…

Open to All Dogs Experiencing Big Feelings on Walks

If your dog is reactive on leash towards people or other dogs, anxious, fearful, over aroused, hyper vigilant, or just plain distracted on walks, you're in the right place.

Meet Your Instructor

Hi! I’m Jessica Wheatcraft, CDBC.

My journey with reactive dogs began in 2004 when I adopted my heart dog, Harley. She was reactive on leash and helping her navigate these challenges set me on the path to becoming a professional trainer.

In San Diego, I saw first hand how difficult it was for clients to have a reactive dog in a busy city. It was nearly impossible to go anywhere without running into another dog, and my clients needed a lot more guidance than “avoiding triggers.”

I have spent nearly 2 decades refining approaches for reactive dogs, always with the goal of helping both ends of the leash feel more confident out in the world, together.

I designed my course and membership to give clients the answers they have been looking for, with the support they need to make walking their reactive dog a reality.

Common questions

The online course is 8+ hours, and mainly video (dog training is visual!). There are additional resources in the form of links to articles, products, books, podcasts, etc to supplement your learning.

All things reactivity! We’ll expand on topics such as:

  • Reactivity in other places including the car/at windows
  • Understanding dog to dog sociability
  • The nuances of thresholds
  • How to lower your dog’s arousal
  • Relaxation protocols
  • Creative ways for tiring your dog out at home
  • And so much more!
  •

We’ll also help students problem solve with their dogs, and have open Q&A

The classes are biweekly and rotate between Mondays and Thursdays.

First Monday of the month at 9-10am PST/12-1pm EST and third Thursday of the month at 5-6pm PST/8-9pm EST.

If you miss a class, you can catch up on it in the replay library.

Each option receives lifetime access to the online course.

Newbies are welcome here 🙂 The online course is comprehensive and designed for all levels. For the membership, everyone is on their own journey with their reactive dog and naturally, some will be at different stages. This makes for a fantastic learning opportunity as a group.

Not quite. While there are many dogs who are reactive on leash who also have bite histories, the focus of this Membership is not for addressing aggression towards guests, other dogs in the home, etc. A private Behavior Consultation is better suited for this situation, or you can also check out the Aggression in Dogs: Real Life Solutions course.
